IND vs SA 2021-22: Team India had to face another defeat in the second match of the 3-match ODI series being played between India and South Africa. With this defeat, Team India also lost the ODI series. Wicket-keeper batsman Rishabh Pant played brilliant innings of 85 runs for Team India who came to bat after winning the toss in the match. On the basis of which Team India scored 287 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in the stipulated 50 overs. In reply, South Africa completed this target in 48.1 overs losing only 4 wickets.
Team India scored 287 runs
In the second ODI between India and South Africa ( IND vs SA ), Team India won the toss and batted first, 6 wickets scored 287 runs at the loss. This was the last chance for Team India to save the ODI series. After losing the Test series, Team India had to face defeat by 31 runs in the first ODI played on Wednesday at the same ground in Paarl. In such a situation, this match was like do or die for Team India.
After failing in the last match, Team India’s young wicket-keeper batsman Rishabh Pant made a brilliant comeback, scoring 85 runs in just 71 balls. Pant hit 10 fours and 2 sixes in his innings. Apart from Pant (Rishabh Pant), captain Rahul (KL Rahul) scored 55 runs in 79 balls. When both these batsmen were batting, then Team India was seen easily crossing the score of 300 runs. But after the successive dismissals of both the batsmen, the problem of the middle order of Team India once again came to the fore.
In the last over, Shardul Thakur once again played an unbeaten inning of 40 runs in 38 balls with the help of 3 fours and 1 six, taking Team India’s score to 287 runs. Apart from Shardul, Ravichandran Ashwin scored 25 not out. Virat Kohli could not even open his account.
South Africa made Ajay lead on the strength of the batsmen
Both South African opener batsman Quinton de Kock and Jaaneman Malan, who came out to capture the ODI series by completing the target of 288 runs, gave the team a strong start. Together they put on a huge century partnership of 132 runs for the first wicket. De Kock looked aggressive from the start. Before getting out, scored 78 runs in 66 balls with the help of 6 fours and 3 sixes. After de Kock, captain Temba Bavuma played Malan well. Together they put on a 90-run partnership for the second wicket.
Bumrah did Malan and Chahal tried to get Team India back by dismissing Bavuma. But the centuries of the last match, Rassi van der Dussen, and Aiden Markram closed all the doors of Team India’s return by sharing an unbeaten 74 runs for the fourth wicket. And given South Africa an easy victory by 6 wickets. With this, South Africa has taken a 2-0 lead in the ODI series after capturing the Test series.
Van der Dussen and Makram both made 37 not out. Before that, Captain Bavuma had scored 38 while Malan had scored 91 runs.
