‘Baby Abby’ made a special record in her name
South Africa’s star Under-19 cricketer Dewald Brevis, popularly known as ‘Baby AB’, in the match played for the seventh place in the Under-19 World Cup 2021 between South Africa and Bangladesh, showed his brilliant batting. But gave his team a spectacular victory by 2 wickets. Brevis scored his second century in the tournament. He played a quick inning of 138 runs in 130 balls. On the basis of these innings, he has made a special 18-year-old record of Shikhar Dhawan in the ICC Under-19 World Cup.
Shikhar Dhawan had the world record for scoring the most runs in an edition of the Under-19 World Cup, but now Brevis has made it his name. Shikhar Dhawan scored a total of 505 runs in the 2004 Under-19 World Cup, while Brevis has now scored 506 runs in this World Cup. Brevis has scored these runs in the Under-19 World Cup 2021 at an average of 84.33. Brevis has scored two centuries and three half-centuries during this period.
There is no batsman around
Now only 2 matches are left to be played in the Under-19 World cup 2021. The Grand Final match between India and England will be played on 5 February. The same, before that on February 4, there will be a clash between Australia and Afghanistan for third place. There is no one around Devald Brevis in terms of scoring runs in this World Cup. Pakistan’s Haseebullah Khan is at number two in terms of scoring runs, who has scored a total of 380 runs in six matches. They have no matches left now.
At the same time, England captain Tom Prest has scored 292 runs in this season, but he too seems impossible to overtake Brevis. To get ahead of Brevis, he would have to hit a double century in the final match against India.
