217 players are vacant
According to the rules of the IPL Committee, a maximum of 25 and a minimum of 18 players can be included in a team. That is, including all 10 teams, a maximum of 250 players have become part of the league. Before the IPL 2022 Auction, all the old 8 teams were given a chance to retain their 4 players, and both the new teams Lucknow (Lucknow Super Giants) and Ahmedabad were given a chance to choose 3 players each. After which a total of 33 players have been retained by all the 10 teams. In such a situation, 217 players can still get a place in different teams. IPL 2022 Auction is to be held in Bangalore on 12th and 13th February.
A total of 80 foreign players will be part of the league
According to the rules of the IPL committee, a maximum of 8 foreign players can be included in a team. That is, a total of 80 foreign players, including 10 teams, will enter this league. Out of which a total of 10 foreign players have been retained so far. In such a situation, a total of 70 places are left for foreign players including all the teams. However, as before, only 4 foreign players can be included in the playing-11.
Most Australian players will take part in the auction
1214 players from 19 countries including India have registered for IPL 2022 Auction. In which a total of 318 foreign players from 18 countries are included. A maximum of 59 players from Australia have registered themselves. Apart from this, 48 players from South Africa, 41 from West Indies, 36 from Sri Lanka and 30 players from England are also coming in the auction. At the same time, due to the long-running political disputes between India and Pakistan, Pakistani players are not been part of the IPL auction since the first season.
