Former India coach Ravi Shastri has told how to end the ongoing dispute between Virat Kohli and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). Before the South Africa tour, Virat Kohli’s virtual press conference had created a lot of tension between him and the BCCI. Virat told during the conference that no one had spoken to him about not giving up the captaincy of T20.
Whereas BCCI President Sourav Ganguly had said in one of his statements that, he had requested Virat not to leave the captaincy. However, then this matter was slowly becoming quiet now. Then the statement of Chief Selector Chetan Sharma gave a new stand to this controversy.
Chetan Chauhan’s statement warms back the atmosphere
Chetan Sharma, the chief selector of Indian cricket, said in a recent statement that Virat was informed long before the selection of the ODI team. When we had a meeting before the T20 World Cup, we were quite surprised to hear Virat’s decision to step down from the captaincy. Then we asked him to rethink it. but he made his decision
At the same time, Virat had said in the virtual press conference that no one had told him that he would not leave the captaincy. Now on this matter, former Indian coach Ravi Shastri has given his reaction in a special conversation with the Indian Express. Along with this, he has also told me how to end this matter.
Sourav Ganguly needs to tell his side
Former India coach Ravi Shastri in an interview with The Indian Express has suggested a better way to end the ongoing dispute between Virat Kohli and the Board of Control for Cricket in India. According to him, Sourav Ganguly needs to come out and clarify this matter. Shastri said on the Indian Express e-Adda,
This issue could have been handled better with better dialogue. It would have been better if it had been sorted out amongst themselves, instead of coming out in public. Virat Kohli has told his side of this story. Now BCCI President Sourav Ganguly should clarify this and tell his side. The question is not who is lying? The question is what is the truth? We want to know this.
