Coming into the first session of the fifth day, Jonny Bairstow and Joe Root carried on yesterday’s partnership and scored quick runs. Both did not give any chance to the Indian bowlers.
Bairstow hit some lucrative shots when trailing Root’s bat also saw something similar, and he managed to complete his 28th Test century.

Apart from this, the partnership of 200 runs between the two was also completed. Both the batsmen batted fast. Bairstow was successful in scoring the second consecutive century of this match.
England won the game by scoring 378 runs for three wickets. Root remained unbeaten on 142, and Bairstow remained unbeaten on 114. Bumrah took two wickets in the second innings.
Earlier, Ben Stokes had won the toss and decided to field, saying that we are good at chasing the target, so we will bowl. The Indian team batted well in the first innings and scored 416 runs. Rishabh Pant and Ravindra Jadeja scored centuries. James Anderson took five wickets for England.
Playing in reply, England’s team was reduced to 284 in the first innings. Jonny Bairstow scored a century. Playing in response, the Indian team could not do much in their second innings and got out after scoring 245 runs. England chased the target of 378 runs, and the series ended in a 2-2 draw.
