ENG vs IND: Danish Kaneria Slammed Indian Batters
ENG vs IND: Reviewing the fourth day’s play, Kaneria blamed the Indian batsmen for failing to put up good totals on the board. He said on his YouTube channel, that India knew England had recently chased down a big score against New Zealand. They should also have realized that they don’t have a wicket-taking spinner.
Their batsmen should have spent more time at the crease and taken the game deeper. But that did not happen. Kaneria targeted the Indian batsmen for playing a bad shot.
Cut to Broad, Pujara was caught on point. It was very bad for a set batsman to get out like this. Also, Rishabh Pant is a class batsman. He played well on the third day, leaving the balls outside the off-stump.
But who plays reverse sweep when the wicket is patched? Shreyas Iyer was batting well, but he played too many shots initially. In England, you need to spend time on the wicket. He also gifted his wicket.
According to Kaneria, India should have taken the lead by at least 400 runs. Along with this, he also expressed disappointment over the performance of the Indian bowlers. They said,
India should have taken a lead of 400. Apart from Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami, there is no other bowler in the bowling who can do wonders. Bumrah is exceptional, but other bowlers give runs at the other end. Bumrah can’t do anything as a captain.
