IPL 2022: The 2016 IPL winner Sunrisers Hyderabad has been surrounded by controversies since the last season. He had a lot of controversy with captain David Warner during the first IPL 2021. Due to this Warner also had to lose his captaincy. And now with only 5 weeks left for the start of IPL 2022, then the team’s assistant coach Simon Katich resigned from his post. After which the Hyderabad franchise has entrusted the responsibility of assistant coach in the hands of Simon Helmot of Australia.
Simon Katich left his post
Simon Helmot, who became the new assistant coach of the Sunrisers Hyderabad team, has previously served as the head coach of the Melbourne Renegades team in the Big Bash League. Australian coach Helmut has been part of the Hyderabad team’s coaching staff from 2012 to 2019. The same Helmot has made Trinbago Knight Riders the champion of the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) in the year 2015 under his coaching leadership.
Simon Katich recently took over as the assistant coach of Hyderabad. After leaving his post, he has also made some allegations against the franchisee. According to reports, Katich has accused the franchise of completely negating the plans laid out earlier during the mega auction.
There will be pressure for a better return
In addition to Katich, Trevor Bayliss and Brad Haddin have also left their posts since last season. After which now Tom Moody will take over as the coach of the Hyderabad team in IPL 2022 and Kane Williamson will lead the team. Williamson was made the captain of the team in place of Warner in the last season.
Sunrisers Hyderabad has also made former West Indies great Brian Lara a part of their coaching staff. Last season the performance of the team was very poor. Last season, Hyderabad had won only 3 out of 14 matches and finished 8th at the bottom of the points table. In such a situation, this time the team will look towards a better comeback.
