ICC T20 World Cup Europe Qualifiers C 2022 Day 2 Match Report: Four matches were played on the second day of the 2022 ICC T20 World Cup Europe Qualifier C. In Group 1, Denmark beat Gibraltar by 132 runs and hosts. Belgium beat Hungary by two wickets, while in Group 2, Portugal beat Malta by 11 runs and Spain by seven wickets.
Playing first in Group 1, Denmark scored a mammoth score of 256/5 in 20 overs and became the seventh team to score 250 in T20 Internationals. In reply, Gibraltar’s team could only make a score of 124/8. Nicolas Legsgaard (42 balls, 91 and 2/16) was adjudged man of the match for his superb all-around performance.

ICC T20 World Cup Europe Qualifiers C 2022: Against Belgium in Group 1 itself, Hungary scored 120/9 in 20 overs with the help of 52 runs from Satyadeep Ashwatnarayan, in response to which Belgium won the last over for the loss of 8 wickets, in which Sabir Zakhil scored 37. Runs scored (25 balls). Murid Ekrami was adjudged man of the match for his crucial knock of 18 runs in 11 balls besides taking two wickets for 27 runs.
Playing first in Group 2, Portugal scored 154/8 in 20 overs, in response to which Malta’s team could only score 143/8. Amir Zaib scored the highest 37 runs for Portugal, while Najam Shahzad of Portugal took the highest three wickets in the bowling. However, despite the defeat, Malta’s Varun Thamotharam (3/25 and 57) was adjudged man of the match for his excellent all-around performance.
In another Group 2 match, Israel scored 114/9 in 20 overs, in response to which Spain won in 13.3 overs for the loss of just three wickets. Spain’s Hamza Dar was adjudged man of the match for his unbeaten knock of 39 off 27 balls.
On the last day of the group stage, on July 1, Belgium will face Denmark and Hungary against Gibraltar in Group 1, while Spain will face Portugal and Malta will face Israel in Group 2. The top two teams from both groups will qualify for the semi-finals.
