IND vs SA 2021-22: ‘form experienced batsman would arrive but then the player’s class always retain’ team this proverb Cheteshwar Pujara be true once again. Pujara played a brilliant half-century in the second innings of the second Test against South Africa in Johannesburg. After the end of the third day’s play, Cheteshwar Pujara has given a big statement about his and Rahane’s batting in a conversation with the media.
The captain and coach are standing behind the players
In the second Test match between India and South Africa (IND vs SA) in Johannesburg, in the second innings of Team India, Cheteshwar Pujara and Ajinkya Rahane, the two most experienced batsmen of the team, batted brilliantly while returning to form. Together, they put together a brilliant partnership of 111 runs for the third wicket to take Team India’s lead to 240 runs. Pujara scored 53 runs in 86 balls. The same Rahane also scored 58 runs in 78 balls.
Both the batsmen were trying to return to the rhythm from the last several matches. In such a situation, this innings will give a lot of confidence to both the batsmen in the further matches. After the end of the day’s play, Pujara while talking about his brilliant batting said, we have the full support of the team management. We have done very well in the past and that is why the management has reposed faith in us. What is going on outside and what is being talked about does not make much difference to the team management. Head coach Rahul Dravid and captain Kohli are standing firmly behind all the players.
I’m sure my form will keep up
Pujara further said in the conversation, “Sometimes when you are not able to score runs for a long time, you just have to follow the right routine and focus on your game. If you follow that routine properly, then runs are sure to be scored. The same thing happened to me too. I am sure I will be able to maintain my form”.
Apart from this, Pujara has also given an update about the fitness of captain Virat Kohli. He said that Virat’s condition is now better than before and he can soon come back fully fit. Let us tell you that due to the strain in the lower back, Virat could not be a part of the second test match. In his place, KL Rahul is handling the captaincy of the team in this match.
