IND vs SA: 2 South African batsmen scored centuries
In the first ODI between India and South Africa (IND vs SA), captain Temba Bavuma and Rassie van der Dussen scored a century for the hosts South Africa who came to bat after winning the toss. . Due to which South Africa scored a big score of 296 runs for the loss of 4 wickets in the stipulated 50 overs. Bavuma played a captaincy inning of 110 runs in 143 balls. The same Van der Dussen scored 129 runs in just 96 balls with the help of 9 fours and 4 sixes.
Electing to bat after winning the toss, South Africa did not start well. Opener batsman Jaaneman Malan returned to the pavilion after scoring only 6 runs. De Kock started well but he too could not make his innings big, and scoring 27 runs was bowled by Ashwin.

Rahul could not make his innings big and scored runs on the ball of Aiden Makram. Dhawan then put him in a good position along with former captain Virat Kohli, who came to bat. Both the batsmen put together a partnership of 92 runs for the second wicket. Both the batsmen completed their half-centuries. Dhawan scored 79 while Kohli scored 51 runs.
After the dismissal of these two batsmen, Team India collapsed like a pack of cards. In the end, Shardul Thakur did show some courage, but he too could only reduce the margin of defeat. The Indian team could only score runs at the loss of 8 wickets, Shardul scored an unbeaten 50 off 43 balls with the help of 5 fours and 1 six.
Team India will have to return
After suffering a 2-1 defeat in the Test series, the Indian team has lost the first one-day match, going 1-0 down in the three-match series. Now Team India will have to win the last two matches to win the series. The next match of the series will be played at this ground in Paarl.
