IND vs SL 2022: Today the second match of the ongoing 3 T20 match series between India and Sri Lanka was played in the beautiful stadium of Dharamsala. The Indian team took a 2-0 lead in the series after winning a one-sided victory by 7 wickets in a high-scoring match. Earlier, in the match played at Lucknow’s Ekana Stadium, Team India defeated Sri Lanka by 62 runs. Electing to bat after losing the toss, the Sri Lankan team set a huge target of 183 runs. In reply, the Indian team completed the target in 17.1 overs by losing 3 wickets.
Rohit Sharma won the toss, decided to bowl first
Indian captain Rohit Sharma won the toss in the second match of the 3-match T20I series today and he took no time to decide to bowl first keeping the dew conditions in mind. The playing of the match went without any change in 11. At the same, the Sri Lankan team made 2 changes in the playing-11 of their last match.
Dashun Shanaka’s captaincy innings, Sri Lanka reached a big score
Electing to bat after losing the toss, the Sri Lankan team batted very well in comparison to the previous match and set a huge target of 183 runs in the stipulated 20 overs at the loss of 5 wickets. Pathum Nishanka, who could not even play his account in the first match, played brilliant innings of 75 runs. For the first wicket, he shared a partnership of 67 runs with Dashun Gunathilaka. Gunathilaka scored 38 runs. And then in the end, captain Dashun Shanaka played a very aggressive inning of runs off only balls to take Sri Lanka to a big total.
Thanks to the strong inning of Shreyas Iyer, the Indian team made Ajay’s lead
In response to the target of 184 runs, the Indian team dwarfed the target, thanks to Shreyas Iyer’s 74, Sanju Samson’s 39 and Ravindra Jadeja’s 45 runs off 18 balls. Team India did not start well. Captain Rohit could only score 1 run. Ishan Kishan’s innings also lasted only for 15 runs. But, after that Iyer first scored runs with Samson and then combined with Jadeja to give India an easy 7-wicket win. Team India completed this big target in only 17.1 overs.
Will be eyeing to match Afghanistan’s world record
IND vs SL: This is the eleventh consecutive victory of Team India in T20 cricket. The third and last match of the series will be played on 27 February i.e. tomorrow in Dharamsala itself. After cleaning the West Indies, now the eyes of Rohit and Co will now be on a clean sweep of Sri Lanka. Along with this, the Indian team will also equal Afghanistan’s 12 consecutive T20 wins.
