IPL 2022 Auction, RR Retentions: Rajasthan Royals can Retain these 4 players in the Team
Jos Buttler
Jos Buttler started his IPL journey with Mumbai Indians, 5-time champions in IPL history. He was then selected by the Rajasthan Royals in 2016 and has been by their side so far and is hoping to contribute more to their team. He has a strike rate of 150 in his IPL career and his highest score is 124 at an average of 35.14. His outstanding form in the ongoing T20 World Cup and his contribution to the Rajasthan team will ensure that he is retained.
Sanju Samson
Samson has not played for the Royals in just two years since the team was banned. He returned to the squad in 2016 when he was re-inducted. He has played a total of 121 matches and has an average of 29.21 with a striking rate of 134.2. Samson was recently named their captain and became the first captain to score a century in his first match as captain. He has never been consistent with his bat but has a career-high 474 runs as captain. So considering his age and ability he can continue to work as a key player in the team for many more years.
Chetan Sakariya
Left-arm pacer Chetan Sakariya made his debut in the last IPL 2021 season. Due to which he got a chance to play in the national team during the tour of Sri Lanka. Due to this, it is expected that this young fast bowler will be retained by Rajasthan Royals.
Ben Stokes
Stokes made his IPL debut in 2016 when he was selected by the new franchise Rising Pune Supergiants and became the highest-paid foreign player in the history of the IPL that year. He proved his worth with his performance and eventually won the Most Valuable Player award for that season. He was selected by the Rajasthan team in 2016 and was also the most expensive player in that auction. After that his injury worries ruined his IPL career and he has not played the entire season so far. Although he was prone to injury, he proved his worth for the team whenever he got the chance.
