Manoj Tiwary Bashes Kolkata Knight Riders Franchise: Check Reports Here: Kolkata Knight Riders did not do well in IPL 2022 and finished seventh in the points table with 12 points from 14 matches. Bengal’s Minister of State for Sports and Youth Affairs, Manoj Tiwary, has lashed out at the KKR franchise. Tiwary criticized the KKR franchise because he believes that the IPL team is not promoting the local (Bengal) players.
The Kolkata-based franchise is the third most successful team in the IPL, having won its first title in 2012. Manoj Tiwari was then a part of KKR. But the former KKR player has questioned the team management process as fewer players were promoted from the Bengal region.

Apart from Tiwary, former India captain Sourav Ganguly, Mohammed Shami, Laxmi Ratan Shukla, and Wriddhiman Saha are some of the names from West Bengal who have represented the franchise. But in the last few years, regional players have barely been seen in the franchise.
Manoj Tiwari stated, “Definitely, and I would like to see a change. I have always said that many players from Bengal should be in KKR. So my only question is that Bengal players can play for other teams regularly in the playing 11, so why not here”.
So the question will always be on the management. He never even spoke openly. He remained calm, and this question always came in front of him.
Bengal veteran Ranji player Manoj Tiwary said that having local players in the franchise inspires youngsters and brings in passionate supporters in the game who want to see players from their region play on a big platform like IPL.
