The poor form of Ajinkya Rahane, once considered to be the savior of the Indian team abroad, continues. After being ruled out of the 2-Test series against Sri Lanka, Rahane decided to play in the Ranji Trophy. His brilliant century in the very first match played against Saurashtra gave a befitting reply to his critics, after which Indian fans hoped that Rahane would soon return to the Indian team again. But in the second match that started on Thursday, Rahane could not even open the account against Goa.
Rahane’s innings lasted only three balls
Cheteshwar Pujara and Ajinkya Rahane, the two most experienced players, who are battling poor form for the upcoming (IND vs SL) 2-Test home series against Sri Lanka, were not included in the team. After which Rahane had questioned the decision of the selectors by scoring a century, but in the second match, he is again out on the score of zero.
Rahane’s biggest problem with the last two salons has been that he makes a big score and, after that, runs stop running from his bat. In such a situation, it will be interesting to see how he bats in the second innings of this match.
The team had high hopes
Former Indian Test team vice-captain Ajinkya Rahane came on the pitch on the first day of the second match of the league round of Ranji Trophy being played between Mumbai and Goa when Mumbai had a bad start. Both his opener batsmen were out on the score of only 30 runs. In such a situation, the team expected from its senior player that, he would handle the team and get him out of this situation. But, Rahane could save his wicket only for 3 balls and return to the pavilion without opening the account.
Rahane Lakshy Garg got out LBW. The year 2021 has been very disappointing for Rahane. This experienced right-handed batsman has scored only 479 runs in 13 Tests last year at an average of 20.82. During this, only 2 half-centuries have come out of Rahane’s bat. In the year 2022 too, in the 2 test matches played against South Africa, only 64 runs have come out of his bat.
