IPL 2022: IPL was started in the year 2008. That season, Rajasthan Royals, considered to be an underdog led by Australia’s great leg-spinner Shane Warne, had shocked the whole world cricket by winning the first title of this mega-league. During that time, the team of Rajasthan was not full of well-known players. But that team full of youth, under the right guidance of Warne, captured the trophy by defeating Mahendra Singh Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings in the final match.
Warne’s style of punishment was quite funny
It has been almost 1 month since Shane Warne, one of the greatest players of world cricket, left this world. In such a situation, before the start of IPL 2022, Rajasthan Royals has shared a documentary related to the title victory under his leadership. Many players, who were part of the team of 2008, have told their experience remembering the time spent with them. In this episode, former Pakistan wicket-keeper batsman Kamran Akmal has also made a big disclosure. Players of Pakistan were also allowed to play in the first season of IPL. He has told his style of punishing players who come late during the practice session.
Ravindra Jadeja and Yusuf Pathan had to pay
Akmal told in a video Sports Yaari documentary released by Rajasthan Royals, “Yusuf Pathan and Ravindra Jadeja got late for practice. So at that time, Warne did not say anything. Even I was late but I joined the team a little late, so he didn’t do anything to me.” He added, “We practiced and then left the stadium. When we were returning, he asked the driver to stop the bus. Then Warne turned to both and said ‘you guys come on foot’.”
Ravindra Jadeja will take over the captaincy of Chennai
Team India’s star all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja, who played an important role in making Rajasthan Royals champion for the first time in the year 2008, will be seen captaining Chennai Super Kings this season. Jadeja has been given this responsibility after resigning from the captaincy post of Mahendra Singh Dhoni. Jaddu is in the best form of his career right now. In the last few years, apart from Chennai, he has done very well for the Indian team as well. The same Yusuf Pathan is now spending time at home after taking a break from cricket.
