The Aussies were still alive in the game, thanks to Warner’s brilliant innings of 99 runs. Kühnemann magical cameo helped the squad to come one step ahead for their victory but failed when he lost his wicket on the final delivery.
Kühnemann scored 14 runs in 5 balls but lost his wicket in the final delivery. This way, Australia’s innings were reduced to 254 runs, and Sri Lanka registered a historic victory.
Dhananjaya de Silva, Karunaratne and Vandersay took two wickets each for Sri Lanka. This is Sri Lanka’s first bilateral ODI series win against Australia in three decades at home.
